Does Romney Follow NASCAR? I Have Some Friends That Own Nascar Teams
In bid to appear relatable, Romney falls out of touch.
Republican presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (R) does an interview with the Motor Racing Network during his appearance at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 54th Daytona 500 race at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, February 26, 2012.
The Associated Press caught this quote from Mitt Romney at his visit to the Daytona 500 today:
Romney was at Daytona last year and said he also has been to the track in New Hampshire. Does he follow the sport?
“Not as closely as some of the most ardent fans,” he said. “But I have some friends who are NASCAR team owners.”

Think First a year agoNames, please? Remember, this is Slick Mitt saying anything he can to appeal to the audience, when he can’t think of anything, he comes up with things like “The trees are the right height” or “I went hunting with a friend in Montana for deer - or I mean elk” (If you actually went hunting you darn well know the difference). I think he’s lying. He does it constantly. Do you think he told all those companies he did put into bankruptcy (22% of the Bain takeovers went that way according to the WSJ) and put through leveraged buyouts what his real endgame was?
