By Historic Standards, Obama Is In Trouble
Modern presidents who got re-elected were all leading in the polls at this point in their presidencies — as were some who lost anyway. Obama is in a statistical tie with Romney in the first Gallup daily tracking poll of the general election, and that might not be enough.

taylorl7 a year agoI really have no idea why this article is putting so much emphasis on Gallup’s tracking poll. I’ll just point out that even if Obama edges out Romney later this week or next week in the tracking poll it will still mean diddly squat. It’s a tracking poll nine months ahead of the election. It’s good for tracking the public mood or their reactions to certain events and policies, but not much else. I would also point out that Obama is ahead with a nice lead in two national polls that were just released today. Still doesn’t mean much because we’re months ahead before the election. It’s better to be ahead than behind, but seriously you guys 9 months. That is all.

Tappar a year agoDear Zeke, this is BS. As I am sure you know, Obama and Romney are roughly equal in presumed electoral votes not including the swing states, and Obama has polled with significant leads in virtually all the swing states. So there’s actually very little chance that he will lose unless something terrible happens. Thanks for trying to make this election a little more dramatic than it really is.
