The rising star dropped her new mixtape titled You Should Be Here back in April shortly after her 20th birthday and if you haven't heard it already you are missing out. #YouShouldBeListening. Kehlani's unique voice and classic R&B sound will have you listening to songs like "The Way" (ft. Chance that Rapper) and "You Should Be Here" on repeat all summer long. (I know because I have) Let's not forget to mention her sold out tour and the fact she hasn't even dropped her first official album yet. Kehlani is a true RnB queen in the making that you need to be familiar with.

    Travi$ Scott

So far, Travi$ Scott dropped two new singles, "3500" (ft. Future & 2 Chainz) and "Antidote", to start the summer off right. With his much anticipated album, Rodeo expected to be out soon, Scott is someone you should become familiar with. Apart of Kanye's GOOD Music label alongside rappers like Big Sean and Pusha T there is much to be expected and you will not be disappointed. Though "Antidote" will not be featured on Rodeo, it is very well qualified to be on your summer playlist. "THIS IS SOME VIBES FOR THE SUMMER,” he tweeted after releasing the song on his Twitter earlier this week. Couldn't have said it better myself.

    2. Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment

This talented Chicago collective includes artist Chance tha Rapper who contributes vocals on a many of their tracks. Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment released their first album titled Surf on iTunes last month for free! A popular song off of Surf is "Sunday Candy" which can be described as a feel good song that'll make you want to get up and dance every time you hear it. Other artists featured on the album include Erykah Badu, J.cole, Big Sean and many more! From their use of live instruments to the way they combine hip hop with jazz, you are bound to find a few songs on Surf to add to your summer playlist.

    3. Vic Mensa

Recently signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation label, 21 year old rapper Vic Mensa teamed up with fellow Chicago native Kanye West on the track "U Mad" which was released in April. The product of their collab is a quality rap song that should deff be on your summer playlist. Though Vic Mensa's debut EP from his new label has yet to be released, the rapper has work from previous mixtapes and collaborations that are worth checking out during the wait.

    4. Post Malone

Post Malone is an up and coming artist who gained major attention after releasing "White Iverson" on his SoundCloud account earlier this year. It was technically one of the first song's he put out to the public. Eventually, it would reach 4million+ streams, throwing him into the rap game and leaving listeners wanting more. Lucky for us, there is more Post Malone to be heard and hopefully more on the way. The low-key rapper has other hits such as "That's It" and "Too Young" that you will never get tired of hearing. His unique sound lyrics are just some of the many reasons you need to be listening to his music this summer.

    5. Tori Kelly

The 22 year old Youtube sensation turned star just released her debut album titled Unbreakable Smile earlier this week. Her first single "Nobody Love" was released in February and made it to the Billboard top 100 list. With the album finally out, songs like "Anyway" and "I Was Made For Loving You" (ft. Ed Sheeran) are just in time for your summer playlist. Kelly's amazing vocals and beautifully written lyrics are reason to check out Unbreakable Smile and become a TK fan if you weren't already.
