Quira Cortei 11 months agoNickelback isn’t totally “rock” but I do like a few of their songs. Plus, I met the guys and they’re actually pretty cool, not douchebags. Why is Nickelback bashing so popular on the internet? Honestly there are much worse wannabe rock bands. However, I agree w/ the Creed bashing. Creed is just bad.

harutake 11 months agoInteresting and amusing concept, ruined because apparently someone decided that the main criteria for something appearing on this list is popularity. I myself happen to not like any of the items here, but that’s confirmation bias. Starting with Nickelback was fine, then a few more obvious choices… then we get to Two and a Half Men. I’m confused. I’m not a fan myself, but I wasn’t aware that this show was a cultural punching bag like many of the other items on this list. Sure, Charlie went nuts and made himself a bit of a joke, but is the show really that bad? It’s the same creative team that brought us Big Bang Theory, one of the best shows in the history of television. As for Black Eyed Peas, I really don’t like them myself, but I’m having trouble figuring out what puts them on this list other than the fact that they’re popular, and some of their catchy tunes might be a bit too catchy for the average Weezer fanatic. Nice try, but popularity alone isn’t enough reason to expect that your fellow hipsters disapprove as much as you do, and I find it annoying when “writers” throw together lists like this to further validate their personal opinion. You ask ‘Who in their right mind takes the time to “like” these things?’; apparently the answer is “millions”. I’m not going to unfriend the 8 Two and a Half Men fans on my list because a random buzzfeed natterer decides the show isn’t hipster enough for her. Maybe try a similar article from another angle. Find the items that are most popular among average buzzfeed readers, dissect them, discuss them, chastise hipster sheep for automatically jumping on bandwagons. Maybe put buzzfeed on said list while you’re at it.
