"Connecticut Girl Problems" Twitter Feed Makes The Whole State Look Bad

    I grew up in Connecticut. I did not have these problems.

    @CTgirlproblems is a twitter stream with over 20,000 followers run by an anonymous person who either loves to perpetuate awful stereotypes — or is an awful stereotype themself. The feed consists of the kind of musings you might expect from the account: on weather, clothes, wealth, brands, and Starbucks. But what it also includes are a smattering of derogatory comments about people who aren't wealthy, people who aren't Christian, and bizarre justifications for knowing nothing but white, suburban culture.

    To me, someone who grew up in the state and still visits family there frequently, it is disgusting — but you can judge for yourself by looking at a sampling of tweets:
