A naked bycycle protest is taking place in Canterbury, Kent in England on Saturday, May 30th. 2015.
Tour De Canterbummy, is taking place tomorrow in the historic cathedral town of Canterbury, Kent in England. Dozens of cyclists with specially adapted saddles are expected to turn out for the event. It's supposed to be a protest against pollution levels and traffic gridlock.
However, one cheeky chappie we spoke to said, 'Me and my mate come every year, we don't really give a toss about the protest, we just come to ogle, especially at the over 50 women!'
This will be the third time the event has been held in Canterbury.
The organiser of this event, Barry Freeman says 'We will be protesting against Canterbury City Council’s continuing failure to protect the public from the daily unacceptable levels of air pollution in the city, which breach EU permitted limits and the council’s own policy.'
We spoke to a rather elderly gent, who didn't want to be named and he had this to say, 'I've lived in Canterbury all my life and have loved cycling. I'm too old to be pushing pedals these days, but I'll be buggered if I'm going to miss an opportunity like this, seeing all those nude bottoms shuffling along the High street! It's enough to give an old un' a coronary. In fact, I might just chuck all my clobber in the laundry for the day and support them all by walking naked along the route. What do you think?'
Well, bottoms up to the ladies and gents and good luck to them all. Might be a good idea to carry a jar of vaseline to protect against any chaffing.
