Alternative Spring Break has a strict no drug and no alcohol policy. Instead of being hungover, you will feel refreshed, inspired, and ready to take on the world!

5. Alternative Spring Break is one of the largest student organization on campus!

We've been around since the late 1980's. Also, double whammy: the concept of Alternative Breaks was first popularized right here on Vanderbilt campus. In fact, the national organization responsible for alternative break programs across the nation was founded by two Vanderbilt alumni with the help of Chancellor Wyatt.

ASB really values the education aspect of its trips. Not only do our students perform service, but they also gain a deep understanding of the issues they focus on.

14. Our spring break trips are affordable.

Our national sites are around $300 and our international sites are about $900. ASB honors a need-blind application as well!

15. We provide financial aid, and lots of it!

Almost everyone receives what they ask for on their financial aid application!

16. Our trips have shown that Alternative Spring Break has broken down barriers between strangers.

Make some new friends from different walks of life!

17. You really do make some of the best friends during your four years at Vanderbilt from ASB trips.

We make sure you go on a trip with 11 students you don't really know. Through service, bonding activities, and lifemaps, you will learn more about these people in your group in just one week than you will in one year. Without a doubt, many friendships have been formed through ASB.

Learn about a different culture and a new issue while doing service somewhere you have never been! What a perfect way to explore somewhere new.

Enterprise rents out some snazzy vans to ASB so don't worry, you won't have to "walk 500 miles."

20. Like the beach? Don't worry, you still get to hit up the beach on some Alternative Spring Break trips.
