MARSHALL FOX 8 months agoWell…sure, it’s cute; but (rather than anthropomorphic “affection”) there’s a lot more animal instinct at work here. The “cuddling” is triggered by the videographer’s hand “tickling” the baby’s belly. First, note that “mom” lightly bites the hand (a “protective” action), then, after it withdraws, her immediate actions are to extend her leg across the kitten (to keep the hand AWAY), then to lick her infant’s belly —right where it was touched. The videographer was being treated as an interloper, and she was trying to keep the human “stink” off her kid and restore the natural bonding process. It’s always wise to remember that although humans are animals…animals are NOT humans.
