    Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch ("MCA") Dead At 48

    The co-founder of the hip-hop trio lost his battle to cancer early Friday

    Yauch was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 after discovering a tumor in his salivary gland.

    He co-founded the Beastie Boys with Mike Diamond ("Mike D") and Adam Horowitz ("Ad-Rock") in 1979.

    Last month the Beastie Boys were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but he wasn't able

    to attend in the ceremony due to his illness.

    Rest in Peace, MCA!
