In 1994 a 13-year-old boy disappeared without a trace from his home in San Antonio, Texas. Three and a half years later he is found alive thousands of miles away in a village in southern Spain with a horrifying story of kidnap and torture. Guys, don’t read the IMDB page because the summary takes away a lot of the mystery you may enjoy from the movie itself. (Like I said, I’ve read about it so I already know what to expect, but if I hadn’t, I’d like to be led through it by the movie rather than have a major factor spoiled by the clumsy summary on IMDB)

Oh my god, I’ve been DYING for them to make a movie about this. I’m really pleased to see it’s documentary style rather than a dramatisation, too. I’ve read about this story and it’s faaaaascinating. Can’t wait to see this.

Actually this movie is based on a true story that was already told in another movie. In The Changeling, Angelina Jolie plays Christine Collins, mother of a missing boy named Walter. Set in 1928, this film tells the true story of the kidnappings of other young boys in the same area. And when the LAPD attempts to pass another boy off as her son, Jolie’s character sets in motion an outcry of police corruption and abuse of power.
