Monstrous Turtle Eats Watermelon
FYI, this is the wrong way to feed a snapper. Please cut their watermelons up for them even if they are capable of destroying them in a single snap. Anyway, I just can’t get over that this turtle’s head is bigger than mine. I’ve never hugged a turtle with a head that’s bigger than mine.

Bord_de_lac a year agothat looked WAY more like a demonstration of how a snapping turtle can fuck you up when it’s angry than it did cutehappyfun feeding time. why else would he have the melon on a stick and be jabbing it at the turtle’s face instead of just cutting it up and giving it to him nicely?

Er, I’m just going to clarify that this guy is picking up this turtle the way one should pick up a snapping turtle of this size: at the shell behind the head, and at the back beneath the tail. FYI, you should never pick up a turtle by the tail. Anyway, this may look a bit weird, but it’s the best way to keep yourself safe and support the turtle. PERSONALLY, I would try to be gentler. And cut the rind off the watermelon.

Snarky Mouse a year agoWhile Im sure the turtle enjoyed the bite of refreshing water melon, it might have made him happy for like a split second. Does it make up for forcing it to live in a plastic tub and not having the freedom to move around?
