Ruth Wakefield's Tried and True Recipe
Start with 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour.
Add one teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of baking soda. Mix together in a small bowl.
In a separate bowl beat one cup of softened butter.
A 3/4 cup of granulated sugar.
3/4 cup of packed brown sugar.
Along with one teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Next, add two eggs to the mixture, beating them in one at a time.
Gradually add the flour mixture and stir in chocolate morsels.
Spread that batter onto a greased pan. Preheat the oven and bake at 375 degrees for nine to eleven minutes.
