Some Guy Turned His Dead Cat Into A Helicopter

Following this cat’s tragic demise after a fatal encounter with a car, Dutch Artist Bart Jansen turned the remains of the feline into a remote controlled helicopter. The device has been dubbed the Orvillecopter after the cat’s namesake American aviator Orville Wright. posted on June 4, 2012 at 10:09am EDT

He’s an artist and it’s probably some misunderstood grief process, although he’s an artist and it’s great exposure. People grieve in different ways and we don’t really know what his process is… I’d say that people are making some interesting assumptions.

This is the most disgusting and disrespectful thing that I have ever seen done to an animal. This is worse than wearing them or eating them, because this is making a mockery of them. This man did not care for this animal, and it is obvious. If somebody did this to a human, people would be doing everything they can to put this man in jail. But since it’s a cat? I guess it doesn’t matter to a lot of people. It really shows what sort of person you are if you think this is funny.

When I first read this, I was thinking, WTF? But after reading some of the comments, I have to agree that this was just his way of grieving. I know when my cat dies I was thinking of having her cremated. I’m lucky I’ll have years with her before I have to think about that.
