i wonder if anyone died from inhaling the colored powders…

i wish i was in India for this, or lived near a Hindu community. i’m from Dallas Texas so we don’t really have that much Hindu traditions always looks so fun and colorful. i love the Hindu religion, and yes i’m a Christian saying that. i love different ways people celebrate things, i wish i could get in the fun too!

I celebrated Holi in 1985 in Bombay (as it was then called) at the age of fourteen with an Indian friend, and it was just as cool as it looks!

I did this with my room mate one year. He had a HUGE meeting in NY the next day and couldn’t get the pink out of his skin.

I want to go to there.

We got to recreate Holi on the football field in our seventh grade history class. Was tons of fun.

if you live near a hindu community, there’s probably a celebration near you. richmond hill in queens has one. i think they do something @ south st seaport too.
