8 Reasons We Miss The 1990's

We don't actually want to relive our adolescence or anything like that. However, there were some things about the 1990's that we wish were still around today...

1. Music on MTV

Back in the 1990's, the performances at the VMA's featured real musicians playing instruments and singing songs they wrote themselves; not former Disney kids twerking and slapping teddy bears in the butt while grinding on a man who sings a song about rape.

2. Friends

It was the best TV show of the decade. It always made us laugh out loud; and it made us want to move to New York with five friends and hang out in a trendy coffee shop.

3. Bill Clinton

Don't get us wrong; Obama is cool, and it's great to have a president of color. But, still, we have to admit that our country was in much better shape when Clinton was in charge. The economy was booming, there were plenty of jobs, and we weren't at war.

4. Gas prices

Need we say more?

5. Comfortable clothes

We never had to waste time figuring out what to wear or keeping up with the latest fashions. In the 1990's, all we had to do was throw on one of our many beloved plaid flannel shirts, a T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and we were good to go!

6. Buying CD's with lyric booklets

Remember coming home from the record store, popping your brand new CD in the stereo for the first time, and sitting on the bed or couch while perusing the lyric booklet?

7. Making it a Blockbuster Night

Going out to Blockbuster, renting a DVD or two, and watching it with your friends. Maybe popping some popcorn, too.

8. The Internet was still a baby...

And it was ridiculously slow, and so eventually we got frustrated and logged off and did something productive rather than making and reading pointless lists such as this one.
