Slums of Beverly Hills with my much-older-than-my-parents Godmother when I was 12 (my sister and I picked it…oof) Four Rooms with my mom and dad when I was 10 (my pick) Hot Tub Time Machine with my mom (again, poor decision on my part…)
favorite random fortune i got: “Alas! That onion you are eating is someone else’s lotus blossom”
forget about the letterman jackets in #6…can we talk about the $150 zip-up onesies behind them?
ok, so maaaybe some of these kids are super spoiled and maaaybe some are just plain idiots making poor decisions, but seriously, buzzfeed, what’s with so much hatred against petty superficial stuff? it’s 2012 and tattoos, piercings, “odd” hair colors aren’t exactly the major shocker they were 50 years ago. i, myself, have pink hair, a quarter-sleeve, and many piercings AND i work for a major media company. not that anyone should rush off and do those things at 17, but still…saying someone is an “excellent dad” because they (inaccurately) believe that doing any one of those things will doom you for life is just plain silly. come on now.
it’s not about protest; it’s about supporting a system that is currently totally out of whack. for many people, the concept of “marriage” is simply about loving someone and wanting to devote yourself to them, and as it stands, the current definition of “marriage” isn’t about that. it’s not necessarily about thinking that the single act of them not getting married is going to change the world…it’s just that the current widely accepted definition of marriage (i.e. only being about man + woman, bible, etc.) isn’t something that they feel they can support…i.e. doesn’t fit their view of “marriage” as being about unconditional love (regardless of race, religion, gender, etc.)…and since the whole concept of “marriage” is currently so exclusive and full of hatred, i can’t really say i’d blame anyone for not wanting to be part of such an institution.

My family’s cat even likes hanging out in the tiny plastic sink of my niece’s play kitchen.
