How about instead of the abominations people come up with in Bethesda and BioWare games, we take a moment to appreciate a gaming protagonist who is uncustomizable and intentionally ugly. Meet Nier, the hero of the game sharing his name, who was critically appreciated for not being a typical anime-style pretty boy. Incidentally, in Japan, there were two versions of Nier (the game) which featured two different versions of Nier (the man), one of whom was, in fact, a typical anime-style pretty boy.
