This is perhaps the cutest picture I have seen all month.
And now, his story:
Originally, our little guy had a whole otter family. As a newborn(with in 5 days of birth), his mother moved her pups to a new nest and he was left behind. Unable to survive on his own, he was rescued and brought to Keeper of the Wild in South Carolina. He spent the first 2 months of his life learning the basics of being an otter from Janet. Due to his total dependence on humans since birth, he was unable to be released back into the wild. The Virginia Aquarium adopted the little guy and looks forward to a lifetime of otter memories!
The Virginia Aquarium has set up an entire website devoted to the adorable little guy, and its first task is to choose his name, which you can vote on here. You can choose from one of the suggested names (Sheldon, Foster, Heyward, or Cooper), or submit your own in the comments.
Me? I'm going for, "Carrot." Because I name everything Carrot. Having no particular love of carrots, this is something I cannot logically explain.
The deadline to vote is June 15th.
