Lucy Lawless, Star Of Xena And Spartacus, Lives Up To Her Name And Is Arrested (For A Good Cause)

For the past 4 days, Lawless and a group of 5 Greenpeace environmental activists have been occupying a Shell oil-drilling ship docked in New Zealand. Today, they were escorted off and charged.

According to the Greenpeace NZ blog, the concern is over the oil companies that are rushing to drill in the Arctic, and the fact that, "...both common sense and scientific consensus tells us there is no way to safely drill up there in the frozen North."

Lawless is quoted saying, "I've got three kids. My sole biological reason for being on this planet is to ensure that they can flourish, and they can't do that in a filthy, degraded environment[...] We need to stand up while we still can."

Lucy Lawless and the other protesters have been charged with burglary. For the record, nothing was stolen.
