    TasteeBQ vs. The Sharks

Unleashes "POWER" by California Gold BBQ Rubs and Recipe for Grilled Mexican Corn

It was maybe a doomed idea from the start. Imagine sending a Superhero to combat some of Television's most vicious Sharks, It wasn't pretty. TasteeBQ had been sent secret instructions from an Earthbound TV website. So he arrived at the Burbank Studio area hotel (Not the Hampton Inn)- a full hour ahead of the appointed time. Surely he'd grab a sweet spot in front of the line, reserved for Superheroes.

He was shocked to encounter a seemingly endless sea of Mortals. Rather than being shown the Red Carpet, our hero was sheepishly shuffled to the back of the line. Soon, TasteeBQ learned that this was the last day , in the last city, of open public auditions for the hit TV Show "Shark Bait." The first half mile of attendees looked like a football tailgating encampment. Folding Chairs, Blankets, Coolers…he saw everything except for a BBQ Grill. Perhaps he did see one- but it could have been a Keg. The people in the very front of the herd claimed to have camped out for two days.

But TasteeBQ was on a mission. He had traveled the globe to discover the world's most delicious blend of 9 Great SuperFoods and he was ready to feed them to The Sharks. TasteeBQ was sure that once they tasted the POWER, The Sharks would transform into cute little Kittens, purring at his ankles for "Meore!". However, first he had to face-off against one of the most feared creatures in Hollywood, the "CD"- Casting Director…

While he's being nice- TasteeBQ did note that the mini circus was handled aptly and efficiently by the "Shark Bait" production crew. They could only guarantee 500 audition spots. Within half an hour after start time, these pros had already completed the "Bracelet Lottery." Our Hero was bestowed with the magic number "369". How could it get more perfect? Ok, it did. The producers assigned all aspiring contestants an appointed time for later in the day.

So our Hero had plenty of time to get ready. Other aspirants were dressed like Fruits, Vegetables, Game Pieces, Disney Characters and other costumes beyond explanation. No really- beyond… TasteeBQ was ready at the appointed time. His hair was in place and he had a fancy poster board sign. Most importantly, he had a freshly produced bottle of POWER Rub and a snack bag of plain Sun Chips to season. It wasn't Glenn Close in Sunset Blvd., but TasteeBQ's mind was singing "With one Taste I could win your heart. With one Taste…"

Ok- here's how it went down. Sort of… TasteeBQ was trying to talk about how the Rub is Gluten Free and tastes great right out the bottle. The CD wanted to know about sales. Our Hero invited the CD to taste the POWER. Surely he would become a believer (RUBeliever?). The CD declined. Well how about this unique concept: POWER Rub is also a special dry Mix for making fantastic Homemade BBQ Sauce? The CD wondered how that translated into past profits…

Well, it seems likely that the public will probably not be seeing the Shark-to-Kitten transformation anytime soon. But the Good News is that if you own or are trying to start a Small Business, you don't need to leave your future prospects in the jaws of The Sharks. TasteeBQ is being supported in his mission to "Make the World a Better Place to Eat" by some very powerful Allies. They serve Mortals and Superheroes alike. Check out the links below and go for the Gold.

Will TasteeBQ try out for "Shark Bait" again next year? [Will they allow him to get within 500 feet of the Audition?] Time will tell. If next year he shows up with 499 Minions wearing "Shark to Kitten" T-shirts, maybe it will get their attention. Or maybe by then the Sharks will be coming to our Hero seeking money. Anything Could Happen (Ellie Golding).

Be part of the story- try TasteeBQ's new POWER by California Gold BBQ Rubs and take your cooking to the next level… and Beyond! Coming Soon to the Amazon.

    Recipe for Grilled Mexican Corn

INGREDIENTS: Fresh Ears of Corn, Butter, Mayonnaise, Cotijo Cheese, and a really good BBQ Rub

    1. Prepare Fresh Corn- Remove hard outer husks from each ear of Corn. Trim stem to 1 inch. Leave a small layer of tender husk attached. Pull husks back and remove as much silk as possible (Run under sink?). Then replace husk back around Corn.

    2. Soak Corn- Immerse Corn cobs in water for minimum 1/2 Hour to Overnight. This will tenderize Corn and moisten husk so it doesn't burn (and protects Corn on grill). Also adds more corny good flavor.

    3. Cook- In Smoker or Grill for 15-20 minutes on moderate heat, rotating to get some color on all sides. [No Grill?- Place Corn in microwavable dish, in shallow water for steaming. Cover with plastic wrap or glass lid. Cook on High for 6-8 minutes, rotating midway through, until tender].

    4. When cool enough to handle warm Corn, pull back husk (and snip) and generously rub Corn with Butter, then Mayonnaise. Cover it with layer of Cotijo Cheese (roll in it or sprinkle throughly).

    5. Finish corn with a flavorful BBQ Rub or Grill Seasoning. [Guess which we recommend?]
