STEP ONE : GET THEM OFF THE FLOOR

Ok, so image number 1 is pretty amazing, but you’re not fooling us—not even our apartment looks that chic. Leaning framed pieces from the floor can look great, but often times this kind of thing can just weigh down your space and accentuate those very sad bare walls.

Let's get your pieces framed, off the floor and onto your walls.

STEP TWO : IT'S LIKE A PUZZLE

You have to start somewhere : find the most important piece.

Choose an anchor piece. Usually, this is the largest one of them all. If you don't have a statement piece, then stack a few pieces to be the center of attention.

STEP THREE : START FINDING SIZES THAT FIT TOGETHER

Find like-sizes between your pieces and keep those next to each other, this will help you put your puzzle together. Choose your baseline on the wall. This step acts as your outline. The entire space can depend upon your starting point, if you want it to.

Keep in mind:

When you don't have too many pieces that are the same size, having prominent baselines will make all the difference. In this case one vertical baseline running in the semi-center and one horizontal baseline running halfway through the middle. This helps keep your gallery wall strong and clean.
