10 Gay Animals That Prove Kirk Cameron Is Wrong

Kirk thinks homosexuality is unnatural. These animals beg to differ.

Well, Kirk has grown up to be quite the hateful, has-been, disappointment. During an interview with Pierce Morgan, he was quoted as saying "homosexuality is unnatural". He was also very publicly unimpressed with the Grammy gay wedding stunt.

Word about Kirk's beliefs quickly reached the world's jungles and petting zoos. There has been an outcry from the animal kingdom. They wanted to take this opportunity to put their gayness on display, and prove Kirk Cameron wrong. The following animals all exhibit homosexual behaviors in the wild.

1) Lions

Homosexuality in Lions in the wild has been observed in both genders, but is more common with males. "Male lions pair-bond for a number of days and initiate homosexual activity with affectionate nuzzling and caressing, leading to mounting and thrusting"

2) Koalas

You don't even wanna know how kinky these cuddly ladies can be.

Granted, in the wild, Koalas tend to be heterosexual, but when given the choice in captivity... "Female koalas indulge in lesbian "sex sessions", rejecting male suitors and attempting to mate with each other, sometimes up to five at a time, according to researchers."

3) Giraffes

Fred and Tom thought no one would see them if they ducked behind that bush for a quickie.

Apparently, Giraffes are more often gay, than straight. Take that, Seaver.

"Male giraffes have been observed to engage in remarkably high frequencies of homosexual behavior. After aggressive "necking", it is common for two male giraffes to caress and court each other, leading up to mounting and climax. Such interactions between males have been found to be more frequent than heterosexual coupling."

4) Dragonflies

These little guys can get quite feisty.

Even insects wanted to get on the flaming Cameron action.

5) Bottlenose Dolphins

The fact that dolphins are they only other species that have sex for pleasure is, well, not fact at all. Many other animals engage in sexual play for various reasons, pleasure being one of them. There is no clearer evidence of this, than in the bisexuality of this species.

"Male bottlenose dolphins also were found to engage in extensive bisexuality, combined with periods of exclusive homosexuality. Male pairs, or even trios, cooperate to sequester and herd individual females during the mating season. Most males are also members of second order alliances consisting of 4 to 14 males. Such relationships appear to be long lasting, with one known 7-member group still intact after 17 years."

6) Sheep/Rams

Yeah, they're both dudes. And they're exclusive.

"Roughly 8% of rams turn out to have sex exclusively with other rams."

"Sheep are particularly interesting, he says, because besides humans, they are the only animal where the males may naturally express exclusively gay sexual preferences. As many as one in 10 rams can be gay."

The studies about homosexuality in sheep have contributed greatly to the debate about hormonal development in the fetus predisposing one to homosexuality.

7) Penguins

Roy and Silo, definitely a better love story than Twilight.

Roy and Silo met at Central Park Zoo in 1998. They stayed together nearly 7 years, and even raised a child together, after zoo keepers noticed them literally trying to hatch a rock as if it were an egg, and thought maybe we should give them an actual egg. This resulted in them raising a happy beautiful girl called Tango, who turned out to be a lesbian herself. Silo eventually left Roy for a female, Scrappy, but their 6 and a half year romance is one for the books. Literally. There's a children's book based on their relationship. I couldn't make this up if I tried.

8) Elephants

Gay elephant relationships last longer than straight ones.

Not only do elephants have amazing memories, they can also paint with their trunks, play music in a band, and be very affectionate. They are also gay, sometimes.

"Same-sex elephants have been known to mount each other and have also been seen ‘kissing’- inserting their trunk into the other elephant’s mouth. Most elephant relationships are fleeting, however, relationships between two male elephants (usually one older and one younger) have been known to last years."

9) Black-Headed Gulls

Birds of flight didn't want to be left out. Although there is much homosexuality in the avian community, the female Black-Headed Gulls combined several minorities worth reppin'.

10) Bonobos

And last but not least, the queerest, kinkiest kids in the jungle, the Bonobos.

Bonobos are widely known to be the species that solves all its disagreements with sex. While this is usually detrimental in human relationships, this works very well in Bonobo society. These unbashful, earlier and better versions of us (Cameron doesn't like this part either) know that the best way to say "I'm sorry" involves doing it like they do on the discovery channel.
