Awesome!
I wonder how many of those terrified wing nuts realize the President agreed to funding for schools that want armed guards and there is not a single proposal to limit the sale of pistols, rifles, or shotguns.
I’m so happy that 99% of these idiots are old-aged bible thumping rednecks. They’ll be dead soon enough.
Between Bush’s Patriot Act and Obama’s gun legislation, I’m not impressed with the way this country does things anymore. Between these two idiotic ideas, we’re pretty much decided we don’t care for at least three things. We don’t care for the Fourth Amendment because we now think it’s perfectly neato to search a law-abiding persons carry-on bag for no reason. We don’t care for the Second Amendment because we now think that (while knowing absolutely zilch about firearms) calling 911 will solve all our problems and if our homes are invaded, a police car and a homeowner can outrun speeding bullets. Finally, our First Amendment means nothing to us anymore because engravers, wood workers, and blacksmiths are not allowed to practice their art if the medium happens to be a replica antique firearm. Perhaps the worst of all is we don’t think people should be able to have the consider the expression of sound self-defense. Now that’s sad. What if we used our First Amendment rights to be respectful, understanding and kind in the first place?
Across the U.S. there were five people injured in accidental shootings at the conventions held for what I’ve heard referred to as ‘Gun Appreciation Day’. Pretty good examples of the people I don’t think should have the right to bare arms. Really, I’ve got no problem with guns, I just dislike the idea of them in incapable hands.
I see a lot of children being used as “human shields” at this rally of impotent political rage.
The following are taken from the Oxford English Dictionary, and bracket in time the writing of the 2nd amendment: 1709: “If a liberal Education has formed in us well-regulated Appetites and worthy Inclinations.” 1714: “The practice of all well-regulated courts of justice in the world.” 1812: “The equation of time … is the adjustment of the difference of time as shown by a well-regulated clock and a true sun dial.” 1848: “A remissness for which I am sure every well-regulated person will blame the Mayor.” 1862: “It appeared to her well-regulated mind, like a clandestine proceeding.” 1894: “The newspaper, a never wanting adjunct to every well-regulated American embryo city.” The phrase “well-regulated” was in common use long before 1789, and remained so for a century thereafter. It referred to the property of something being in proper working order. Something that was well-regulated was calibrated correctly, functioning as expected. Establishing government oversight of the people’s arms was not only not the intent in using the phrase in the 2nd amendment, it was precisely to render the government powerless to do so that the founders wrote it.
I love it when wingnuts become armchair scholars in an attempt to refute someone else’s argument. As though obfuscation and misrepresentation of the facts somehow constitutes a rational, valid argument.
Everyone forgets about the word regulated thats in the 2nd amendment. it talks about a regulated militia. it doesnt say you have the right to have assault rifles just because you want them
Our number one weapon to protect us from tyranny is the ballot box. Those who fear an unresponsive government should work actively to insure that our elections are free from corrupting influences. Examine the influence of money, gerrymandering, the electoral college, the political party system, lobbying, the filibuster, etc.
Wow, some of the comments on here are really sad. Open your minds, and try to see a different view, and learn about what you “hate” before opening your mouth (or keyboard) - this goes for everything in life, not just guns.
There were 323 rifle murders Which includes assault rifles) in America in 2011. And 728 “hands and feet” murders, and about 1700 stabbings. Yet we are rushing into “rifle control”, which if we got ALL of them, would reduce the “rifle” murders to zero IF those murderers did not use something else.

Document or no document, I was born on this earth with the fundamental right to live my life, have dreams of excellence, and be the best that I can be. I don’t need a document to say that I have the right to be able to preserve my life from anyone who tries to take away my right to live. That is just common sense. I find it insane that these people try to dictate where, how, when, and IF I can protect my own life the way I see fit. You have the right to bear arms, it doesn’t mean you have to, but it means that those who choose to, can. I need these weapons and magazines not for hunting, but to be on EQUAL FOOTING as the individuals trying to take away my right to live. YOU are the one who is responsible for your own life so it is up to you how you plan to protect yourself. Nobody else. How can anyone argue with the right to live and protect yourself?
