    10. Papercuts

    As if bills weren't horrifying enough, slicing your pointer finger open on an electric bill is probably the least fun thing ever.

    9. Static Shocks

    Wave your arm about a bit and pretend it wasn't the cheap cardi from Primark that caused your body to become its very own tesla coil of PAIN.

    8. Biting Your Tongue

    Usually happens when stuffing your face with food too exuberantly. 99% of the time you return to eating and it happens AGAIN.

    7. Dropping Your Phone On Your Face

    Okay so this one probably hurts your pride more than anything else. Lying back, texting away and SMACK. Smartphone to the bridge of the nose.

    6. Stubbing Your Toe

    Okay now we really are into the realms of utterly incapacitating pain.

    Common culprits are beds, desks and doors. They should come with warning signs.

    5. Walking Into A Lamp Post

    Usually happens when texting and walking, or just not concentrating and walking, or just walking... Nearly always happens when someone lovely of the opposite sex is with you causing you to want to die in a pit of shame and pain.

    4. Trapping Your Finger In A Car Door

    A dull, throbbing pain that seems to last for YEARS. Leaves you with lovely blackened fingernails too as a constant reminder of your utter stupidity.

    3. Hitting Your Head

    Particularly if you stand up and hit your head on something you know is there.

    Usually causes unprovoked rage directed at the object you so daintily smacked your skull on.

    2. Hitting Your Funny Bone

    IT'S JUST NOT FUNNY.

    1. Treading On Lego/Upturned Plug

    We couldn't decide which was more painful and none of us wanted to try it out.

    A pain that seems to emanate from the foot to the scalp and can incapacitate even the most hardy of humans.
