I'm a Denver-based Rolling Stone contributing editor working on a Michael Jackson biography (Scribner) due in October 2015. I started researching Joe Dorsey and segregation in New Orleans in late 2010 after reading Terry Teachout's great biography "Pops," about Louis Armstrong. It was a book proposal before it landed on BuzzFeed — a labor of love.
