Dr. Vivek Murthy is President Obama's nominee for Surgeon General of the United States. Special interest groups are trying to block Dr. Murthy's confirmation. Now is the time to make your voice heard and call your senators to tell them you support the confirmation of Dr. Vivek Murthy. Don't let ideologues hold public health hostage. Make that call for the future of our nation.

Dr. Murthy co-founded VISIONS and the Swasthya Project, international service organizations focused on HIV/AIDS education and rural health, which reached over 45,000 students through direct education programs. He is co-founder of Trial Networks, a software technology company that helps improve the efficiency of clinical trials around the world so that we can get treatments to patients faster and more safely. This is Dr. Vivek Murthy. He received degrees from Harvard & Yale and is a practicing physician at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital, one of America's top hospitals.

At the age of 36, Dr. Murthy would be one of the youngest Surgeons General in history.

He plans to focus on preventing obesity to improve the nation's health.
