chelsyoungling 8 months agoAm I the only one that clicked through to the other pieces? There’s a man with his penis out in one of the photos, but ohhhhh noes, the guy in the tiny house, yeah that’s offensive….. (not that a penis is offensive, everyone should walk around naked!)

Queerty reports that the museum’s issue was how best to display “thousands of wonderful, provocative and explicit pieces” in a way that “contribute[s] to student LGBT education.” I don’t find these educational at all. Provocative, yes. Wonderful, possibly. Educational? Nope.

annac19 8 months agoNudity in art is commonplace. Just because it’s modern style art or has an LGBT theme, I don’t understand why that should automatically render it invalid or offensive. If they’re really concerned about younger viewers, they should just put an age restriction on the exhibition. Plenty of galleries do that.

These images should be praised. Nudity has long been artistic, and no piece of imagery should be deemed anything less than artistic simply because some groups disagree. Art is meant to spur forward and innovative thinking, and this series does exactly that. Why should anyone be able to stifle the idea of what is Beautiful to another simply because they disagree? These images aren’t pornographic or offensive, they merely display a different yet relevant point of view. These photos are about as offensive as a woman breast feeding her child. And if you find something disturbing about either of these scenarios, perhaps you were never truly exposed to what beauty lies within the human form.

2themaxe 8 months agoLook um there is nothing wrong about sex, or nudity. Be proud i say, and sex is soo wide and can include lots of things and possibly more people ? But in this case in lgbt education, there is nothing educational about this, and if so then go to a porn site, educate yourself as much as you please. But for the sake of educating peole and children alike, this kinda didnt beling. But it is a fact of life and sex isnt the only thing to educate yourself about the lgbt people. So yea just an opinion!

This isn’t the entire series. There are definitely NSFW/NSFS images; and, though it’s art (and I believe in freedom of art), there’s a time and a place for nudity. Promoting student LGBT education probably isn’t one of them. Purely my opinion.
