What to Ask Used Bus Dealers
Purchasing a used bus for business or personal use is a major investment. Know the six major questions to ask used bus dealers before you decide to buy a bus.
1. Where do your buses come from? If it is a school bus that you are looking for, you may want to find one that came directly from a school. Check to see which school though because some schools only do enough to pass an inspection.
2. What makes the buses that you have better than other dealers who have used buses? See what they do with the buses that they have.
3. Does everything on the bus work properly? See what the dealer says and you may also want to get it inspected before purchasing. If everything isn't working correctly, see if they will lower the price for repairs.
4. Have they done any maintenance on it while they had it in their possession and are they aware of any maintenance that may need to be done in the future? If so, see what they did and what may need to be done later on.
5. Is there a warranty still for any of the parts of the bus? If not, see if you can get an extended warranty.
6. How much are you asking for the bus? Check around before you go to the dealers to see what the asking rate for a bus is so you know roughly how much a used bus should be.
