Fully Functional Iron Man Briefcase Suit
Well, maybe 'fully functional' is stretching it a bit. It can't fly and I wouldn't trust the armor to stop small rocks thrown by a child, let alone a bullet. You can wear it though. And it glows. (Via)
-
All the little plastic bits
The 'armor' is made from nearly 400 different heat-formed hand painted plastic pieces held together with elastic, fishing line and magnets.
-
Then it all gets a bit Technical
Much of the support structure is made from over 4,000 Lego Technic pieces.
-
Vacuuforming
Created by making a clay model, freezing it, then sucking hot plastic around it. Not textbook, but it works.
-
Finished Mask
The eyes were cut from a plastic storage container and the LEDs were wired to turn on when the helmet was closed.
-
The first fitting
Don't worry, it gets better.

Finished model, briefcase mode
