Being fit has nothing to do with “loving your body how it is” or “being comfortable in your own skin” that’s called self esteem. If you are happy with yourself 50 lbs overweight, good for you but that is not the definition of fit. FIT is being in a healthy weight range based on your height and body fat percentage. You may feel sexy and you can kinda keep up with your kids and climb three flights of stairs but that does NOT by any means make you FIT. I hate how the standard in this country is changing to not be able to call overweight people what they are: unhealthy, unfit. Your heart works double time to pump oxygen around your body, your knees take a beating every single step you take due to the extra weight you carry around regardless of how “fierce you feel” in your own skin. You are not taking care of your body and how the human body is supposed to run. Carrying extra weight around is HARMFUL. FIT is not a FEELING, FIT is an actual state of being a healthy weight, due to exercise and healthy eating. And the same goes the opposite way, if you are starving yourself to be skinny to look good, you are also doing as much harm on your body as the overweight people. Physically fit means fueling your body with important nutrients EVERY DAY and treating your body to exercise because you body LIKES exercise. Stop looking at it like a chore, it’s something it LIKES its your lazy brain telling you you’d rather eat a burger and watch a reality singing show. Ever notice how a dog LOVES to be taken for a walk? SO DO YOU. Your body loves when you move and are active every day, so respect that. Stop lying to yourself about how being fit is being able to walk to the park with your kids and sit there for an hour and take upward angle selfies to hide your extra body weight.
