15 Jaw-Dropping Pictures Which Prove How Beautifully Diverse Indian Weddings Can Be

    BRB, getting married.

Sephi Bergerson, an Israeli photographer who has lived in India since 2002, has been shooting Indian weddings for many years now.

His upcoming book, titled Behind The Indian Veil, captures the different moods and colours of Indian weddings.

Bergerson has been working on the book for the last six years.

And the journey has taken him all over the country.

    From Ladakh...

    ... To Vishakhapatnam...

... And many other places in between.

Bergerson captured the ceremonies of many different communities, from Bengali, Tamil Brahmin and Hyderabadi Muslim to Parsi and Ladakhi Buddhist.

He says the objective of the book is to reveal "the differences and similarities in Indian wedding traditions, while seeking the common essence of this grand, colourful, fantastic celebration."

The experience was a new one for Bergerson. "I was welcomed into spaces I never expected to see in my life," he said.

Bergerson ended up with about 50,000 images, the very best of which comprise his book on Indian weddings.

Bergerson's work is a commendable attempt at documenting the many different traditions that take place in India.

It is also a wonderful reminder of the intimate moments that make the wedding day one of the most special occasions of one's life.

But most of all, it shows you how amazingly colourful and unique an Indian wedding can be.
