What was offensive was Crystal's joke right after Octavia won: “After I saw The Help I just wanted to hug the first black woman I saw, which from Beverly Hills is about a 45 minute drive.” Also, his comment on how Viola Davis must be so grateful for the opportunity to portray a strong black woman that isn't a Tyler Perry role.

I think the real issue is the way that the kid is behaving. It's not just the average “Oh my god! Mom! Dad! Oh my god! Thank you!” It's strange screaming that doesn't have a smile to it or any sense of any purpose beyond creating a freakish shriek level. The manner in which the rest of the family reacts as well is strange. No chuckles, no good-natured, “So is it what you wanted? I can't tell!” The whole thing is just odd and somehow disturbing instead of amusing and cute. I can't help but think the child is autistic or has some sort of behavioral problem.

This list made me realize that the music in that film is way forgettable, but then again, I hated the movie. While the animation was fine, the characters were depressingly dumbed down and one-note. Never before has a disney heroine had to actually say her core message, let alone so many times in the first 10 minutes.
