Yes indeed it was a great run that will go down not in just Seahawk history but NFL lore. At the same time the vast majority of NFL fans will respecting the team’s effort definitely did not want to see Seattle at 7-9 go any deeper into the playoffs. Oh well, they will be out of the picture next week anyway. :-) enjoy your moment Seattle fans.

Ok, as a Seattle resident and Seahawks fan, let me add a bit of context as to why this was even more amazing than it looks. This run cemented the Seahawks’ victory today against the defending Superbowl champs, and in doing so, made NFL history. According to some random website which I quote because I couldn’t pull these stats out of my ass…  “What makes this game so interesting is the fact that at 7-9, the Seahawks are the first team in NFL history to win their division with a losing record. They are also the first team to make the playoffs with a sub .500 record since the strike shortened season of 1982, when the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions both made the playoffs with a 4-5 record.” In other words, Seattle went into this game as HUGE underdogs, and this run was about as triumphant a moment in Seattle sports history as we’ve ever seen, or likely will ever see again. Whether or not we go on to win more in this post-season, I’m damn proud of my Seahawks.
