The Internet Has A Hell Of A Lot Of Feelings About The New "Doctor Who" Episode

Warning: There's lots of spoilers in this.

The internet was a bit excited about the new series of Doctor Who.

It started with a dinosaur vomiting a TARDIS.

And Capaldi delivering this memorable line.

This was followed by BRAND NEW opening titles.

The title sequence was inspired by a fan video created by motion graphics designer Billy Hanshaw.

Which received a rather mixed response.

NEW TITLES AND NEW SOUNDTRACK BOTH STEAMPUNK AWESOMENESS. #DoctorWho

My God. What have they done to the titles?! #DoctorWho #Awful

So what did people think about Capaldi? Well, they were generally positive (although it is a bit hard to judge in just one episode).

This is the strangest episode of The Thick of It one has ever seen. #drwho

This moment was well received though.

CAPALDI AND TENNANT MAKE ME PROUD TO BE SCOTTISH

And if you looked carefully you saw this.

guys... turns out peter capaldi DID swear in that episode!

Strax also proved to be a bit of a crowd-pleaser.

And Madame Vastra and Jenny shared a kiss.

I do wish the BBC would stop pushing inter-species lesbianism down our throats. It's the thin end of the wedge. #DoctorWho

Leading to basically the entire of Twitter asking if the three characters could have their own spin-off show.

Can we please have a spin off series with Madame Vastra, Jenny and Strax solving old Victorian crimes?

So....can we have a Jenny, Vastra and Strax spinoff please?

Dear BBC, I want a spin-off show with Jenny, Vastra and Strax being awesome Victorian detectives!

Also WHERE IS VASTRA, JENNY AND STRAX'S SPIN OFF. WHERE. IS IT. #DoctorWho

But the downside of this episode was that a lot of people got incredibly confused at the plot.

Please please please let me get what I want. A plot. #doctorwho

#DoctorWho has tonight referenced the ship of theseus, Dickens, Sherlock, Descartes, the Turing test, the afterlife... But forgot a plot

Doctor Who theory: upcycled robots, endlessly patching themselves up = metaphor for scriptwriting process? Moff as tired clockwork king.

And others thought that earlier aspects of the programme were just repeating themselves all over.

But just when some people thought this episode was a bit rubbish, this happened.

And then later, he said this: "He sounds old. Please tell me I didn't get old. Anything but old. I was young."

And everything was all a bit...

    Matt Smith right now #DoctorWho

This ! Can't stop the tears"Matt Smith as The Doctor"

It started with a phone call and ended with a phone call

Meanwhile, Danssmith on Tumblr noticed this.

The main lesson from this episode?

And that the Doctor does not like hugging.

    NOPE.
