Hannah Cole-Chu, a first-year law student at the University of Maryland, went to get her lunch from a shared fridge at school today.
Instead, she found this:
"I made a whole chicken roast," she told BuzzFeed. "I brined the chicken for 24 hours in lemon, rosemary and peppercorns, and then roasted it with potatoes. Threw some rice in there and some spinach which would cook down in the microwave."
She was shocked. And so were her classmates:
All agreed: it was the smiley face made the theft especially macabre.
"I concede that the potatoes were a little salty, but it wasn't bad," Cole-Chu said.
