10 Best TV Couples Of The Romantic Variety

Ok look, Ten Best lists are always controversial. They're biased and opinion based. If your OTP isn't on here, get over it and make your own list. That being said, I reserve the right to steal any great pairings from the comments if I find one I didn't think of. Thanks for your service to TV kind.

1. Cory and Topanga (Boy Meets World)

Best TV couple ever, deal with it. They have their ups and downs, they have some history continuity errors, and then there was that whole... Lauren issue, but you still never doubt the love they have. Topanga is the whole bag of Jelly Beans, and Cory will always make her believe in THEM. I grew up with them, and they have forever ruined my standards for true love.

2. Chuck and Sarah (Chuck)

These two may actually tie Cory and Topanga, but I gave it to the latter because I spent my formative years with them. Chuck had a very controversial ending. It was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. For the people who hate on it, I suggest choosing to make the Season 3 episode Chuck Versus the Other Guy to be your own version of the finale. Personally I have a love/hate thing with the finale. I think it's a beautiful and somewhat daring fairytale of an ending. It's the kind of ending that makes you cry and feel all the feels, but also hope. And hate because... well if you've seen it then you know. I loved every minute of their journey together, and how they bring out the best version of each other. I choose to believe in their fairytale ending.

3. Marshmallow and Lilypad (How I Met Your Mother)

Marshall and Lily. They out cute the cutest kitten on YouTube. That time when Lily ran away to San Francisco broke your heart just as much as it did Marshall's. They want to know absolutely EVERYTHING about each other, they're super supportive, and they always keep things interesting. Who doesn't want a love like Marshall and Lily?

4. Monica and Chandler (Friends)

One of the funniest TV couples, but with a lot of heart too. They're sort of an 'Opposites Attract' type couple, yet somehow they just seem so right for each other. Plus they're wayyy better than Ross and Rachel. Even so, he'll still always be the guy that pissed on her jellyfish sting.

5. Willow and Tara/Xander and Anya (Buffy)

They each completely deserve their own spot, but I couldn't justify two for the same show. I think we shall not discuss their respective relationship endings. Willow and Tara have such a sweet and understated love while Xander and Anya have something strange but full of surprises and discovery.

6. Amy and Rory (Doctor Who)

Epic love story, spanning years and continents, lives ruined, bloodshed, epic (VMars, see below). He waited centuries for her, she remade the entire world for him. One of my favorite shows of all time, and they were the best part of Matt Smith's run. I don't know what the heck was going on in last year's Christmas special debacle, but at least we got one last Amy moment. And of course, every episode could use more Rory.

7. Leslie and Ben (Parks and Rec)

Dorky and utterly adorable, Leslie and Ben, I love you guys. They both constantly surprise each other in the sweetest ways and each really 'gets' the other in a way that no one else ever could.

Honorable Mention to April and Andy on this one. Miss Hitler and Bert Macklin, 'nuff said.

8. Veronica and Logan (Veronica Mars)

Because their love is Epic. No matter how much I love Piz, nothing beats LoVe. Unlike everyone else on this list so far, these two are actually terrible for each other. And they know it. But they can't help it and neither can we, amirite fellow Marshmallows?

9. Brad and Jane (Happy Endings)

Brad and Jane always seem to be perfectly in synch, and are almost annoyingly perky. They have just enough charm to pull it off though. They're not quite Marshall and Lily cute, but they're definitely runner-ups. Still, you gotta love them together.

Honorable Mention on this one goes to Max and James Wolk's character Grant. If they had lasted longer, they probably would have beaten Brad and Jane.

10. Piper and Leo (Charmed)

Piper and Leo went through a lot to be together. I am including them because of their early years together, not because of how they ended. There were always obstacles in their way, but their love still shone through.

To be honest, I'm not completely sold on them, but I have been ping-ponging between several different couples and couldn't make up my mind for the last one. Piper is one of my favorite TV characters ever, and I think Piper and Leo had a very strong story at the beginning, but the way things fizzled out at the end knocks them down a lot.

There are a ton of other great TV couples, and I had a hard time narrowing them down at the end, as evidenced above. But I decided just to go with how I am feeling at the moment. Feel free to let me know who you think deserves to be on the list.
