This Beautiful Calendar Features Acid-Attack Survivors As Its Models

The survivors reenacted their greatest aspirations in a series of moving and powerful photographs.

In 2014, New Delhi-based photographer Rahul Saharan conducted a beautiful photoshoot with a few acid-attack survivors.

They have now come together to create "Bello", a calendar dedicated to the dreams of acid-attack survivors in India.

It emerged from debates about the true meaning of beauty in society.

The calendar aims to challenge the notion that victims of acid violence are "ugly" or "unpresentable."

And make us stop misjudging those whose appearances may have been altered by vicious attacks, but who have not lost their faces or identities.

The funds raised through the calendar's sale will be used in the rehabilitation and betterment of the acid attack survivors in India.

You can buy the calendar through the social volunteering website Paltan.
