A Lot Of Twitter Users Are Angrily Yelling At This Mumbai Resident Because Of Of His Twitter Handle

"@Hardik" Shah isn't involved with the Patel agitation at all, but try telling Twitter that.

This is Hardik Shah, Mumbai resident and Business Head, India, at Videogram.

And this is Hardik Patel, the leader of a protest movement that has brought Gujarat to a standstill over the past week.

Unfortunately, a lot of the messages meant for Patel and his revolt are being directed towards @hardik's Twitter account.

The tweets he's been receiving have included sincere requests...

    Naming and shaming...

    And just plain hate.

Shah's predicament isn't helped by the fact that his own followers have been adding to the trollage for laughs.

"It began with the riots in Ahmedabad and everyone just started to vent on Twitter," Shah told BuzzFeed. "All the tweets led to me, enough for me to have to charge my phone twice a day."

"It was irritating earlier, but now I just quote those tweets. It's actually fun now if you think of it," Shah added.

After almost nine years on the platform, Shah had to change his display name to make sure the haters got the message.

It might be a while before his Twitter feed gets back to normal, though.
