Maldives’ National Museum Loses Entire Collection Of 12th Century Buddha Statues To Angry Mob
An angry mob stormed the National Museum in the Maldives yesterday and smashed the entire collection of 12th century Buddha statues made of Coral and Limestone to protest the worship of idols in the strict Islamic nation. A senior museum official is quoted saying “I wept when I heard that the entire display had gone”.
