Howdy neighbor, and welcome to Chicago! If you are like me, you grew up in a small town, always feeling out of place. Dreaming of the day you would finally move to a city with more than one stop light and finally experience this thing called Starbucks. Well, lace up your girdle, Mary! You've made it! Now comes the hard part.....going from 'new kid in town' to the 'talk of the town.' Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ryan Justice. I know, I know, awesome last name, right? Some say I was a superhero in a past life...I say they're right. I was born in a small town just outside of Lima, OH (Glee anyone?). In 2003, I moved down to the Bluegrass where I attended Berea College. After graduating with my BA in Psychology, I moved to Chicago to finally try my hand at a big city. It's been a blast, but Chicago can be intimidating. Figuring out how to meet people, how to get around the city, and, most importantly, how to call Chi-town home! This blog is for all us Chicago Newbies. While much of my experiences and posts will have a focus on the LGBT lifestyle and community, I will also frequently post generic "new to Chicago" information. In the end, we're all one big diverse family!
As part of presenting the Outstanding Director of a Variety or Musical, Ricky Gervais ripped on Mel Gibson and was generally hilarious. To take the edge off, he offered free beers via waiters to some of the celebs in the front rows, including Matthew Perry.
