What's Missing From The New STAR WARS 7 Trailer?

In a sea of whitewashed reboots and prequels, it's refreshing to see director J.J. Abrams switch things up.

By now you've probably seen the trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", and wondering how things have changed in the last 31 years.

There's been an AWAKENING alright. In the first few moments we're treated to a barren Tatooine, harkening back to the opening scene in A New Hope.

And then... BAM! Our first hero, ladies and gentlemen, is A YOUNG BLACK MAN.

THIS IS HUGE. John Boyega, best known for his role as Moses in "Attack the Block" (2011), is set to play a pivotal role in this installment -- meaning we'll have plenty of screen time to figure out how and why he ended up in this Stormtrooper uniform.

Next we have the film's new female lead, looking more like a bona fide heroine than damsel in distress.

DON'T EXPECT TO SAVE THIS PRINCESS.

Daisy Ridley is rumored to play the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia, meaning she's probably got enough spunk and foolhardy confidence to take down the evil Galactic Empire all on her own.

    AAAAAAAAAANNNDD....

Lastly, we have LATIN heart-throb Oscar Isaac flying an X-Wing fighter through some pretty intense weather conditions.

Isaac will also play the lucky successor to the GODDAMN MILLENIUM FALCON, making him responsible for some of these glorious aerial shots:

    HOOOOLLLLLLYYYYYY FUCKING SHIT!

So what's missing from the STAR WARS TRAILER?

    ...A LEADING WHITE MALE!

While Adam Driver's cloaked Sith and Andy Serkis' omniscient voiceover are still crucial pieces of the Star Wars puzzle, they take a relative backseat to these newcomers who finally get to THRIVE in a DIVERSE UNIVERSE.

It's a breath of fresh air seeing Boyega, Ridley, and Isaac at the forefront of Abrams' soon-to-be epic. But maybe the greatest Awakening of all, is that Abrams actually convinced Disney to let him get away with it.
