Women Are Posting Topless Photos On Instagram For A "Topless Tour"

    #TheToplessTour.

Two British students are encouraging women to send in fun, topless photos — only with their backs shown — to be shared on social media as part of "The Topless Tour".

The tour began in 2012 and features photos of topless women (mostly) posing against dramatic backgrounds in nature, or in yoga poses.

Fans of the tour have said that, for them, the project is free and liberating, and that "pressure and judging went away" when they posed for the photo.

Others have said that it's a refreshing way for young women to embrace who they are and love their body.

The photos are shared on Instagram and Facebook. The Topless Tour Instagram account has over 22,000 followers.

Women — and some men — have participated from countries all around the world.

The Topless Tour was started by friends Olivia Edginton, 20, Lydia Buckler, 21, and Ingvild Marstein Olsen, 20. They're students at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance in London.

Edginton said that the photos are "symbolic and about opening your heart to the world".

Some photos are taken on mountain tops.

    More mountains.

    On the beach.

    Jumping in the air!

    More yoga.

    Ballerinas are getting involved.

    More yoga-type poses.

See what I mean about the yoga?

    New York, because why not?

    Hey, another mountain!

    In an art gallery.

OK, so this one is pretty cool.

    Hollywood.

    And, well, more than topless.
