Melanie and Vanessa Iris Roy, from North Carolina, are hoping this photo of them holding their pregnant bellies will encourage other lesbian couples to carry children.
The adorable snap was originally shared two months ago by the couple on Melanie's Instagram account.
But this week, an LGBT rights Facebook page shared the image and it went viral, receiving 150,000 likes in just a few days.
Melanie said they wanted the snap to inspire other lesbian couples.
"Vanessa and I have always said we would both like to carry," she said, speaking to Huffington Post. "The woman's body is incredible. The way it creates and grows another human being is amazing. We hope that our picture is that sign that some women may need to encourage them to carry a child."
