  • What is “Net Neutrality”? A screenie stop motion to keep current defintion Rift MMORPG

“Social Generated Media” and “User Generated Content” or “Consumer Generated Media” is the information, influence and communication on a website that is created by its users, as opposed to businesses completely creating or selecting the content for its viewers (much like how it could be without “Net Neutrality”): examples are YouTube, WordPress, Twitter and Twitch. “Net Neutrality” is the belief that Internet Service Providers are an “information service” (Title 1, Section 3, Definition 20 of the Communications Act of 1934), and not a telecommunications “common carrier” (Title 2) which the FCC may regulate, as was defined by the FCC 02-77 in 2002 Section III B. Please send your comments by July 18th to the FCC under “Protecting and Promoting the Open Internet” to keep this definition. Or send an email to openinternet@fcc.gov. And send replies to all comments by September 10th. As more and more move to the internet as their primary source of entertainment, we are seeing more and more “User Generated Content” like broadcasters on Twitch. If you are curious what a gaming community can do, I highly encourage you to watch our tournament livestreams on http://www.twitch.tv/grimgamertv. We are not affiliated with Twitch in any way, rather we are promoting them by using their service. We are not only promoting websites like Twitch or Youtube or WordPress, but we are also promoting the gamers who livestream on Twitch in addition to the gamers who post videos on YouTube and the gamers who run Rift MMORPG fansites on WordPress (like http://riftgrate.com or http://www.riftresource.com) or the gamers who run independently funded radio stations (like http://www.siradio.fm) that play Rift MMORPG. Rift PvP dimension tournaments are community created content: gamers create the PvP dimensions where the tournaments take place; each of our competitors and every livestream commentator is a part of the community. Most important, PvP’ers are always encouraged to give us their honest feedback about our events. Not to mention the prizes! Special thank you to siradio, Ominous guild@Seastone and Verity@Greybriar as well as Rgi@Deepwood and Hello Kitty guild@Deepwood in addition to Landslyde@Greybriar (to hear his touching speech at the beginning of the 3v3 tournament in honor of Junlar, please watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMZiaQ4-qKg), Kiwi@Greybriar and RoughRaptors@Greybriar for your incredible generosity! We are always looking for corporate sponsors. I support cable television like the FIFA World Cup on ESPN/ABC and SyFy’s Defiance; however, as a MMORPG player and host of tournaments held online, Net Neutrality is very important and we support the current definition.

  • Awesome player-created reproductions in Rift dimensions

Rift is a FTP (Free To Play) MMORPG (Massively Mutliplayer Online Role-Playing Game) that successfully mixes fantasy and science fiction from Trion Worlds, Inc. One of the many things a player can do in this video game is to create a 3-D “dimension” and visit guild and other player’s dimensions. If you are able to download Rift and log on, then you can jump right in at level 1 and see all the public dimensions for yourself. Dimensions are an incredible way for gamers to express their creativity in a static space. The only movement you will find in a dimension is from an immobile item such as fire, water, windy pines, “falling green motes” or elevators. For this reason, dimensions alone are only able to tell a scene but not an entire story especially like one that you would find in a motion picture or a book. Instead, players create or recreate settings, scenes, landscapes, still lifes, or a captured moment in time much like a photograph; some of which occur in Telara (the world in which Rift takes place) and others more like something that you would see somewhere IRL (In Real Life). Lore is the background story of a game. It tells the player the history, stories or myths of the past. Some dimensions also incorporate lore and suggest alternative scenarios. Mood is also present in dimensions with lighting effects and music. The only limitations really are the player’s creativity and the availability of dimension items and locations. Exploring a dimension whether guided (written or visually) or unguided gives the community a glimpse into their creator’s IRL personality – undeniably their intelligence and often their fantasies or interests, when we are often unable to meet their online character first. Sometimes they are spectacular places that inspire and awe, as well as gather like-minded individuals (which is a very important aspect of MMORPG’s) for interactive events whether RP (Role Playing) or recently with PvP (Player versus Player).

  • Top 5 cosplay roleplay costumes in Rift MMORPG Inception fantasy

One of the really fun things that you can do in the FTP (Free To Play) MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) Rift is to cosplay/role-play within your “Role-Playing” (the “RP” in MMORPG). We show people role-playing elves who role-play/cosplay doctors or nurses. This can be further enhanced through dimensions, limited only by the player’s imagination. You may visit jousting RP dimensions as well as PvP (Player Versus Player) dimensions; and if there is an event there, you may also participate in content created entirely by its community. We have a 3v3 tournament in Junlar’s honor on May 10th at 6:30 PM ST. Watch it livestreamed by GrimGamerTV: http://www.twitch.tv/grimgamertv
