This is Shawn Mendes, the 15-year-old pop singer, Vine cover star and former glee club member whose just-released, self-titled debut EP is currently sitting on top of the iTunes chart.
Mendes has been recording covers since he was in the 8th grade. His 6-second recordings of songs by artists like Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars earned him over 2 million Vine followers, plus a recording contract from Island Records in June.
His first single, "Life of the Party," made him the youngest artist to ever earn a top 25 song on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at no. 24 this month.
