Culture Buzz Chicago's Sears Tower is being renamed Willis Tower for a London insurance Group, Willlis Holdings, that leased 150,000 square feet of office space. Built in 1973, the 110-story building housed the Sears Corporation until they moved to Hoffman Estates, IL. Sears naming rights expired a few years ago. Think of all the postcards and souvenirs that will wind up in the Dollar Stores because of this change.
HAHAHAHAHA….suuuuuuuuuure, everyone will call it “the willis tower” now. Dream on.
