This Big American Bully Is A Big American Sweetheart Who Needs Your Help

Handsome Honeyboy Edwards survived life as a junkyard dog and is now fighting cancer. Help this pooch knock out his tumors and find a forever home.

Honeyboy Edwards has had such a rough life, it's no wonder he was named after a blues singer.

He survived a shelter in San Bernadino, Calif., which has a reputation for high rates of euthanasia. Photos of his big ol' mug were forwarded around until January, when he finally landed at Rocket Dog Rescue in San Francisco.

The 10-year-old, blue and white American Bully wasn’t always this good-looking: He was found in a salvage yard with gashes on his face, cropped ears, and rough skin.

He probably spent much of his adult life guarding that junkyard, maybe even fighting other dogs. The veterinarian discovered rocks and pieces of car tires in Honeyboy's stomach.

The vet also found cancerous lumps throughout his body and circled all the tumors with black permanent marker.

His foster caretakers are now raising money to help pay for his diagnostic tests, chemo, other medication, and surgery. This dog's life's not so easy after all.

Even with his health problems, Honeyboy still has a sweet, gentle demeanor. At pet-adoption events around the Bay Area, he’s developed quite the fan base.

In late June, Honeyboy had tumor surgery and is now recovering, spending his days being a couch potato with his foster brother, Tommy.

He's also sticking his face into everyone's laptop and making it impossible for his humans to get any work done. Isn't he an adorable distraction?
