An 800-Pound Snowball Caused Thousands Of Dollars Worth Of Damage After Rolling Into A Dorm

    Whoops.

Two math majors at Oregon's Reed College lost control of a giant snowball they built last week, sending it crashing into a dorm building, CBS News reports.

The snowball was estimated to weigh at least 800 lbs., according to college spokesman Kevin Myers, and was built during a rare snowstorm in Portland, Ore. that brought a foot of snow.

The students have not been punished for the damage, which a maintenance manager told Reed Magazine will cost $2,000 to $3,000 to repair.

Three students inside the dorm were "startled by a 'huge crash,'" but no one was injured.
