In a letter on the Dunkin’ Donuts website, CEO Nigel Travis explains why they’re finally, after all these years, planning to open stores in California: “Some big-name celebrities have even made pleas on national TV for us to bring our famous coffee to Hollywood.”
But don’t throw out your DIY munchkin recipe yet — there’s a long road to glazed bliss ahead. Here’s the outlook:
“We are now actively seeking franchisees to open Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernadino, Ventura and Orange Counties in California. We expect the first new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in California to open in 2015.”

pipc 4 months agoI’ve lived in California my whole life and I had no idea we didn’t have dunkin donuts. I’ve always seen Dunkin Donuts commercials and they sell the stuff in regular stores and I always get my donuts from local places so I never realized they didn’t exist here but now that you mention it, I guess I’ve never really seen one

andread14 4 months agoThis reminds me of when I lived in Boston. I worked at a doctor’s office and a patient called in as she was lost. She told us she was at a corner with a Dunkin Donuts and a CVS. The office manager responded to her “Ma’am, you’ve just described every corner in the greater Boston area. You are going to have to be more specific.”
