Part of the reason frats have toga parties is because they are “Greek Life.” The earliest fraternity like systems date back to ancient Greece. Frats and Sororities use Greek letters to distinguish themselves. We associate togas with Greeks and Romans…even though the Greeks didn’t wear togas as much as the Romans. Common misconception!
And the original intent of fraternities was not to party but to do service and meet people with similar interests.
Kappa Sigma was kicked off my campus as well. A while ago one of the brothers sent out a mass email to the frat detailing his hookups with some girls on campus…and accidentally cc’d the administration, his professors, and the president of the university. And them another member did the same thing a few months later. And they had a lot of alcohol violations and occasionally drugged some girls.
I guess it wasn’t just my school’s chapter that does stupid things.
Well, they spelled “thighs” wrong…
